State Land Office

Since 2018, we provided legal services to the State Land Office for a number of years, representing it in hundreds of property disputes concerning legal relationships to land, including claims under the Land Act and the Act on the property settlement with churches and religious societies. We also provided the State Land Office with labour-law consultancy and counselling in the area of public procurement.

Disputes with the House of Liechtenstein

Since 2019, we represented the State Land Office for several years in dozens of sets of court proceedings in which the members of the of the House of Liechtenstein claim the surrender of property confiscated in the post-war period under the Beneš decrees or expropriated under the laws applicable at that time. This was a unique case with elements of international law, which had reached the stage of the Constitutional Court. In parallel, we also provided legal counselling related to pending proceedings before the European Court of Human Rights.

Dispute over the historical Lednice-Valtice complex

We successfully represented the State Land Office in a high-profile dispute at the DistrictCourt in Břeclav. The case involved the Prince of Liechtenstein’s foundation (FÜRST VONLIECHTENSTEIN STIFTUNG) and the reigning Prince of Liechtenstein, Hans Adam II,who sought the payment of various financial claims and also the restitution of theLednice-Valtice complex and other properties in the Břeclav region that had beenconfiscated in the post-war period under the Beneš Decrees.
